GJT Tax Consulting, LLC is recruiting Interns/Volunteers who will assist in income tax return preparation for the upcoming tax year. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is an IRS sponsored program, designed to provide FREE tax preparation for families making $54,000 or less.  Every year, GJT Tax Consulting will provide free tax training and help volunteers get tax certified, through the IRS Link and Learn Certification process, to become tax preparers and provide tax preparation services to our community. 

 

Training will begin in October of 2019 and the program will begin mid-January 2020.  Interns/Volunteers will be trained in income tax law, income tax return preparation, and the quality review process. Additional training will be provided in the use of TaxSlayer software, TaxSlayer configuration and deployment of TaxSlayer computers. All interns/volunteers must be certified through the IRS Link and Learn program for Tax Year 2019. 

 

Interns may be eligible to receive college credits, continuing education credits, and will receive experience in applicable tax laws, income tax return preparation and valuable customer service skills.
