The First Time Homebuyer Program, in partnership with select banks and realtors, will prepare potential first-time homebuyers for homeownership. GJT provides one-on-one counseling to first-time homebuyers, seeking ro purchase a home in New Jersey.  The program provides a comprehensive “walk through” of the entire home buying process including credit, savings, inspections, appraisals, down payments, and insurance.  You will be empowered to make smart decisions during your first home buying experience.

 

 

First-time Homebuyer Counseling Provides:

 

• Assistance in developing a personal long- or short-term action plan for resolving credit problems

• Extended counseling to eliminate bad credit problems

• Guidance in preparing a budget

• Information and preparation for homeownership

• Pre-qualification services that let you know how much of a house you can really afford

• Information on special affordable and/or discounted mortgages and special grants or down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers purchasing a home in New Jersey
